The month of May in the Trackmania World Tour was marked by the organization of Comic Con Baltics, the first major tournament of the season. Its results, along with those of the Trackmania Monthly Cup, significantly changed the World Ranking.

Stufts, first Major Champion

The second Trackmania Monthly Cup kept all its promises shwocasing a very high level of play among more than 70 participants. They had several additional weeks to practice on the official map pack. Ultimately, it was the English player Robert “Epos” McKay who won the final, ahead of Canadian Carl-Antoni “CarlJr” Cloutier and Dutch Mees “Stufts” Jenema. This great victory allowed Epos to temporarily take the lead in the World Ranking before Comic Con Baltics.

Comic Con Baltics in Vilnius concluded after two days of competition, bringing together 32 of the top European players from the online qualifying stages. The results confirmed the excellent form of several players. Notably, three of the four finalists had already reached the final of the Trackmania Monthly Cup of May: Hubert ‘mime’ Dziedzic, Robert ‘Epos’ McKay, and Mees ‘Stufts’ Jenema. It was Jenema who won the final, earning an additional 2000 points in the World Ranking. The tournament also spotlighted the formidable talent of Frenchman Alexandre ‘Binkss’ Touche, who clinched an impressive second place on the podium.

A Busy Month of June

June is packed with action, featuring several homologated tournaments, including the second Major category competition of the season. Organized by Gameward, this event will take place on June 22nd and 23rd, offering numerous points in the Trackmania World Ranking. The top players will also compete for a €1,300 cash prize and two tickets to the Monza Grand Prix in Italy.

Additionally, a series of four online Community Cups will be held in June and July. Two of these have been homologated in the Challenger Tournament category, while the other two fall under the Grand Tournament category.

With the Trackmania Monthly Cup and LAN ETS in Montreal also on the agenda, June promises large opportunities for players to earn additional points in the World Ranking.

First changes at the top of the World Ranking

The Trackmania World Ranking saw significant shifts between April and May. Alexandre “Binkss” Touche had to relinquish first place to Mees “Stufts” Jenema, the winner of Comic Con Baltics. Robert “Epos” McKay climbed from 7th to 3rd place, ahead of Poland’s Hubert “mime” Dziedzic, who moved up two spots.

While a few players have emerged at the top with over 1000 points each, the rest of the ranking remains highly competitive, with many positions still up for grabs for securing a slot in the Playoffs. The ranking could change dramatically with the introduction of the new official map pack and the five tournaments scheduled in June!
